Team USA Takes Home Silver

This year I was asked to represent China for the 2018 ISA SUP World Championships as an athlete on Team USA. It has always been a dream of mine to represent my country on a global scale. When I was asked if I would like to go to China as apart of Team USA it was a dream come true. Going into this event my training was the most rigorous it had ever been. I was running and paddling day in and day out. One thing that really kept me going was the reality that I wasn’t just paddling for myself. Even though being able to go to the ISA Worlds was already a dream, I still had many aspirations to accomplish while I was there. One of these goals was to help Team USA earn the overall gold medal. Through a series of tight events and back and forth placings between Team USA, Australia and France; Team USA was able to take home the silver medal. Visiting Riyue Bay, Hainan Island, China seeing the beautiful tropical forests, the open air markets and the wonderful beaches was an amazing cultural experience too. Doing this all while being a part of Team USA is something that I will always cherish.
